general questions

Who is Evermore Amore?

We are a passionate group of wedding photography creatives striving to capture life changing moments in new and exciting ways. We have an obsession with creating art and experiences that connect our wedding photography with our clients.

Where are you based?

Our studio is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng: but we love traveling and photographing destination weddings. We'd love to talk to you about your destination wedding.

Do you photograph destination weddings?

We do indeed and are always open to traveling for our clients. We have a basic plan as to how our client can cover travel costs.

what time DO YOU TYPICALLY START ON A WEDDING DAY?

We will arrive at your venue just before you start getting ready for your big day in order to make sure we capture every special part of your day.

Do you provide videography services?

We are mainly focused on wedding photography. However, we can refer you to some super talented videography teams we love to work with.

Have you shot at my venue before?

We have shot at many venues, so there's chance we have. If however we have not, we will be sure to get there early and scout for the best photography locations. We also have a look at the venue online, and search for potential locations so by the time we arrive on the day we already have ideas in mind before we scout in person.

Who will be photographing our wedding?

In most cases the photographer you have the meeting with will photograph your engagement or wedding. That way you already know them and are comfortable with them. You can also request a specific primary photographer, if you don’t have a primary photographer in mind we’ll take other factors into consideration when selecting a photographer for you e.g availability, personality and who referred you to us. It's also likely that if you were referred to us and the person who referred you to us had for example Stephen as the primary photographer we’ll most likely assign him to your shoot.

How do you describe your style of photography?

We pride ourselves in developing our own style of wedding photography, that is deeply integrated with photojournalism while using elements of fine art and fashion photography. Our vision is to use unique perspectives, angles, lighting, compositions and post production to not only bring out the best of our couples showcasing their beauty and personalities but also tell their unique stories that are one of a kind. We delight in the reality that we’re not simply photographers, but rather artists creating unique and captivating imagery. To see examples of our quality and style, please visit our Portfolio as well as our blog. Learn more about our styles HERE.

DO YOU DELIVER EVERY IMAGE YOU SHOOT?

No, we do not. We eliminate any images we feel might dilute the overall package e.g test shots, missed focus shots, shots with less than ideal facial expressions and of course random accidental shots. For example, throughout the day there will be time when we need to take a burst of photos to make sure we get the perfect shot. This means that we have forty or so photos that are almost identical. We don’t expect you to have the expertise or the time to sort through hundreds of photographs, choosing the best ones. So we spend hours doing it for you. In another example, have you ever taken a selfie that realized that someone had their eyes closed? This is exactly what happens with group photos, so to avoid this we'll take many nearly identical photos making sure we get the perfect one. With our expertise in processing photos we may eliminate ones we feel are duplicates and only deliver the very best one.

Do you provide partial day coverage?

We typically don’t do partial day coverage on weekends. On weekends, we only accept clients that require our minimum package (10 hours) of coverage or have a budget of at least R10 485 and above.

Do you shoot Bar/Bat Mitzvahs or corporate events?

Yes. These are all considered ‘event photography’. Our specialty is wedding and event photography, and we would love to cover your celebration.

What if the ceremony is in another language?

No problem. We approach these ceremonies with research, making sure that we understand the traditions of the culture of the wedding as best as we can. We will also always have talk through meetings with our couples in advance to ensure that we understand and are aware of any key moments that will take place during the day.

If we want to add more time at the event, can we do this?

No matter If you want to add more beforehand or on the day of your wedding, we have a flat extra hours rate that we charge. No extra fees for late notice on the day. This is because we want you to have the best possible photo experience.

What are my rights to my images?

You have full rights to print and share images as much as you like. However, if your desire is to do something commercially, please contact us first and we will take it from there.

What happens if you are ill and cannot be there on my day?

We know many knowledgeable and experienced photographers who will be able to fill in for us. Nevertheless you will most likely be getting at least one of us on the day, and we will prep the other photographer as to what style and specific details you desire.

Post production questions

My venue is very dark. How does your studio handle these situations and can I see samples?

We are used to shooting in low light situations, we’ve even done couples light painting shoots in almost total darkness. If permitted we’ll make use of our wonderful flashes and various other off camera lights. Some chapels however don’t allow the use of extra lights, in that situation we'll make use of our cameras excellent low light capabilities combined with wide aperture lenses. (check out our tool kit HERE )

Do you touch up all the images you deliver?

Yes we do. Every single image you receive has not only been hand picked, but also post produced in our signature style. This process involves colour correction, white balance adjustment, exposure adjustment, black and white processing, clarity adjustments, and other corrections. There are many photographers that don’t post produce every image, but rather only a few “select” images from your wedding. This means that there might be inconsistencies in the images such as strange skin tones, images that are too dark as well as various other common photography flaws. By processing every image we ensure the best possible picture and consistency.

Is there a style or quality difference among the photographers?

No. We take every step we possibly can to ensure the consistency of all our photographers. Maintaining high standards of stylistic and quality driven imagery. Every shoot is reviewed and scrutinized for minor mistakes to maintain high standards of consistency. However we do tailor our experience to each client, and what they’ve requested. For example, some clients like dramatic and vibrant imagery while others prefer light and airy imagery. Either way we'll tailor our photography to match while maintaining our signature style.

DO YOU SHOOT IN JPEG OR RAW?

Raw. We’ve experimented with shooting both Raw and JPEG, but we choose Raw because of the creative freedom it gives us. Raw enables us to bring out those striking bright and vivid colours while retaining all the original image quality. Another benefit to shooting raw is that it allows for better colour and white balance correction.

Wedding day questions

How many hours do you suggest we set aside for wedding day photos?

Take a look at our Ideal Wedding Photography Timeline HERE to see a detailed breakdown of how much time you would need to have set aside for your wedding photos.

I have gaps between events on my wedding day. Will I be charged for that in between time?

For various reasons, we have to charge for the time in between events. The fact is, we never really take a break on the day. Whether we’re backing up images, traveling to another location, setting up at the second venue, taking venue shots, taking detail shots or making up photos in lost due to unexpected delays, we always are doing something. In many cases we’ll use that “downtime” to take you and your significant other for a photo session or get more group portraits.

Whats the maximum additional coverage i can book?

4-6 hours. We cap our work days at 16 hours so that we don't over work our team. If you booked us for 12 hours you can add on an additional maximum of 4 hours. If you booked us for 10 hours you can add on an additional maximum of 6 hours.

Why do you need to charge for additional coverage?

When you book us we set aside the entire day for your wedding, so we won’t be racing off to another event. The primary reason why we charge for additional coverage is our team, as you can imagine there are costs in keeping the team there extra time. The shooters and the lighting assistant all require additional compensation. To add to this more photos will be taken and therefore will need to be processed which takes more time than just the extra time of the day. These factors all add to the overall costs. Rates are rounded to the closest 30-minute increment.

Engagement questions

Can our engagement shoot be scheduled on a weekend?

We typically don’t do engagement shoots over weekends, this is because most of our weddings fall on weekends. If you are only able to do your engagement session on a weekend, we can tentatively schedule your engagement session on a weekend. However, if a wedding is scheduled at a later time for that weekend, we will have to reschedule your engagement session. There will also be an additional charge for a weekend engagement session because the very few weekends we have off are usually spent with our families. Another reason why we like to shoot on weekdays is because the locations are often less busy.

How many images do you typically deliver from an engagement session and from a wedding?

We usually deliver somewhere between 30-40 per hour in an engagement session and typically between 30-50 images per hour for a wedding. Of course these numbers will fluctuate depending on how the day flows and the number of events or activities during the day.

when can we expect to see the photos from our engagement session?

Post-production for engagement sessions are completed 6-8 weeks after the date of the shoot. If you need the images sooner than that a rush process fee will be charged.

How early should we arrange our engagement session for?

We recommend it as soon as possible. We suggest at the latest 10-12 weeks before your wedding, this is primarily due to the time for post-production of each image and complete any orders you might have placed.
