Evermore Amore is mainly focused on wedding and couples photography. But when friends of ours asked us to do their matric dance photography, we couldn’t help but give something totally new a try. Learning new things is one of the core values of Evermore Amore, so when an opportunity to escape our comfort zones arises it's always exhilarating. It also didn’t hurt that the venue was simply spectacular, Shepstone Gardens is absolutely breathtaking! So we agreed to do the shoot, and finalized all the details. 

The Couple 

Let me start by describing the couple. Right from the start of the shoot Cullen and Jessica were a pleasure to work with.

Cullen has this suave that makes it seem like he always has the answer to any problem. Early in the shoot he mentioned that he wanted to look like James Bond, so that became the primary focus with all of his solo portraits. Using strong poses and dramatic edits, as well as the very Bond like venue the drama of the character was slowly created. I’m so happy with the cinematic quality that the final images have.

Jessica has a type of quiet strength to her that one might not notice at first. This is concealed by her smile that could light up a city nevermind a room. She was wearing a beautiful rich purple dress that immediately made me think of a princess. So I knew that all of her images needed to feel like a fairytale. Using bright warm colours we were transported straight into a fairytale. Combine this with the amazing backdrop of Shepstone Gardens, and a whole new world unfolded before our eyes. 

Shepstone Gardens the hidden gem

We had heard many things about Shepstone Gardens, but the real thing far exceeded all of our expectations. From the smallest detail all the way up to the grandeur of the buildings not a single thing was left to chance. The care that went into scoring the materials to build everything is absolutely astounding. It's truly a photographer's paradise. I could spend days there and still not run out of incredible opportunities to create art.
